There aren't enough words to cover the gratitude my husband and I feel for Jessalyn and the TMG Team's absolute dedication to their work. Having moved from the UK last year, an initial consultation to try and understand the Canadian and Calgarian home market moved very quickly and spontaneously to us putting an offer in on a house. Jessalyn was there through it all, adjusting our pre-approvals, answering our thousands of questions, and just providing two young brits with the confidence they needed in buying their first home in a new country. My partner and I used their services to obtain a mortgage on our first property. We think that their service is mediocre - more reasons below on why we gave a 2 star review.

1) We (the borrowers) were not presented with a range of lenders to choose from, instead they were the ones who decided which lender to go with.

2) It felt like they only did the bare minimum. They did not even bother to give us a call for any questions or explanation of the process, everything was done via email. Most of the time, they will only call/reach out to us as a reminder to submit documents online.

3) We were clear from the start that we wanted to obtain a Purchase Plus Improvement Mortgage, but for some reason we were not able to get this. Most likely, due to the complexity of this type of product, we were lowkey discouraged from getting it.

4) We reached out for Jessalyn, but for some reason the associate who handled us was Pauline. This explains the lack of check-ins/ ensuring we were comfortable with the process, and the lack of explanation. The process was mostly asking us to submit information and documents, instead of presenting us with options and explaining each option.

Jessalyn is amazing! I came to her with rather tricky financial situation as a newly-self-employed entrepreneur with iffy, high-utilization credit. Previous mortgage brokers told me it wouldn't be possible do to buy I wanted given my situation, but Jess never made me feel like it would be impossible. She said it might be tough, that I might need a co-signer, or a bigger down payment or to pay a higher interest rate, but it was always a possibility and that possibility turned into a reality! She was there with me every step of the way as we navigated barriers and needs and pursued different avenues, and never made me feel like my situation was too much or too complicated. Even on possession day, when we had some issues getting the financing transferred, she was coordinating with the lawyers and the builder so that I didn't have to. She kept me updated throughout and stayed positive for me when I was stressed. A few days after a successful possession and move, I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Jess that lasted for weeks! Thanks for everything, Jess! Beyond being a brilliant mortgage broker, you are a beautiful human who was there for me when I needed it, and for that and everything, I am so grateful.
