So my husband and I were driving through Calmar today and we were hungry so we thought we would stop at the PUBLIC HOUSE to get a bite to eat. The sign was flashing OPEN, The door was open, a group of people just walked in, my husband and I walk in and some lady in the back, yells Sorry we’re not open to the public today in a rude tone. We went to Subway next-door to eat and kept seeing people walking in there with cases of pop and what not. Not sure what the problem with us was, but made us feel very uncomfortable and thought you were very rude. Would not recommend.

This is my favourite pub of all time. Aside from one in Iceland and the beach in Cuba.

The staff are very accommodating and fun to be around.

Always served very promptly and everyone knows your name. Always great shows, kareoke and oilers games.

The owner often kills me in pool which is the only thing I can say bad about this place!

This bar shows its redneck roots! The food is the worst of pub food you can ever have - microwaved from frozen Costco brands?
The waitress was out for a smoke in the parking lot when we got there and certainly smelled of it as she came over to serve us. The beer was cold but...
Yeahhhhh...keep putting on the miles in either direction and do yourself a favor by not stopping here for a break! You'll thank me later

Surprisingly the food is really good here! Had chicken wings, pizza, dry ribs, and poutine and everything has been great.

A group of us, drove in from edmonton, to support a friend and his band that was playing at route 39. We were expecting to grab some beverage and food. But were told the kitchen had closed at 9. 935 came around and a order came out to the table next to us. Inquired again about food, was told the fryer and oven were broken. Then another order came out to the same table. I can see why the place was empty. I will say the waitress was very pleasant!!!

I am new to the town of Calmar. I don't get out much, as I do not know a lot of people in the area. I stopped by to have a drink after work and was really impressed with this place. The owner was a tall, muscular man who was very friendly, with a soft and gentle demeaner. He was even super patient with my specific chicken wing request, and always made sure my drink was topped up.
This place has a great atmosphere, and is an awesome place to hang out and play pool. It doesn't hurt that the people who work here are very easy on the eyes as well!
