Let me share my recent experience with this pathetic bank.

If its too long for you to read, just read the last paragraph.

I held myself from doing so but now I have had enough with them. I applied for LBC credit card in boxing day week getting tempted by their cashback as I just purchased a house and had to purchase home products. Everything went good initially, I made the first purchase. When 3 days later I tried using it again, it didnt work. I reached out to bank and I was i formed that my card was blocked as dept is doing a review and someone will call me between 24-48hours to resolve the issue.

Those 48 hours passed, nobody bothered. I called again, this time again I was same answer;24-48hours. This agent forgot to disconnect the call and in the back I could hear him ranting and cursing at me.48 hours passed again and still no call. I called the third time and got the same answer. This agent asked me to email them with the problem and I complied. I got an email back next day saying until I dont pay the amount spent, they wont unblock. I argued as 10-12 days had passed and they could have told me to do so on day 1. Plus, I spent only a fraction of my credit limit and felt that the bank was holding my card hostage. Then entire experience so far was getting worse and I was making calls to them on daily basis.

Being a TD customer for 2 decades I never ever suffered this harassment by a bank, especially when my credit score has always been over 760.

So, in the attempt to get the card released and being patient I complied again and paid the full bill which took 4 days to appear on LBC's system. I informed them that I had paid the bill and is showing in my activities, can you please unblock. I finally received the email saying its unblocked and I can use my card now. 2 days later I was trying to pay my phone bill and it declined again. I call the bank yet another time. I was given the answer that my card had block from 2 departments. One removed it, but other one still has the hold. I requested(and frustrated) the agent to unlock the other hold, but he said its a different dept. I expressed my discontent (a customer wont know who locked it. One they confirm its unblocked means it should work). This time again I have been given 24-48hours. Im waiting. Im sick and tired of this bank. Frustrated, angry as there is no hearing here. I made this comment to the agent that "If the bank dont trust its customers why do they open accounts or give credit cards". Also, if you didnt complete the verification on the first place why did you issue me a card.

Beware of this bank. It will hurt their feelings but it sounds a big scam to me. Im ok if they want to take an action on me based on this comment as I had enough of them.

20 days later, nearly 50 calls after, after complying to all there demands, I am still holding a plastic card that doesnt work. I feel like a hostage.

Terrible...… Trying to apply for the Digital high interest account as advertised at 3.3%. Application is online only and website directs you to answer Equifax security questions , after answering them 100 percent correctly the application process is stopped because questions are incorrect. The next step is to call Equifax to get everything correct. THE problem is Everything is correct. The Equifax rep I spoke with said he has received several calls yesterday about this issue. Seems to be a scam or publicity stunt as getting this account appears to be unobtainable. You also get locked out after 3 attempts and have to wait 72 hours to retry. Today is my second time getting locked out. With no other option to get this account but an online application I think it is some sort of advertising stunt.. As of Jan 19 2020 the only way to get this account is online no phone applications or in branch applications.

Laurentian banks reply will be they are so sorry for my trouble. How about getting me the 2 hours of my life I have spent trying to sort this application out. 2 calls to Equifax and 4 calls to Laurentian.

Good luck opening the LBC digital high interest account. Online only application is impossible to get through. Called customer service but told all I can do is reapply in 72 hours. Oaken financial was way easier to deal with.

Worst customer service. Please never deal with them. They will ruin your credit also
