I am so impressed with Volunteer Airdrie! Without their help I would be in a terrible situation. They have helped me move from a townhome to an extended care facility. As a Volunteer Driver, I can't tell you how many times a Client/Senior has expressed their appreciation for the ride saying they would have cancelled their medical appointment if they didn't have the ride. Some require assistance in walking. I give them my hand or arm to hang onto. I let them know they are safe with me and I will do what I can to help.

I started volunteering , driving people to their medical appointments in Calgary, in the spring of this year, expecting to be involved a couple of times per week. Meanwhile this has ballooned into 15-20 riders per week. The small group of volunteer Drivers is sometimes overwhelmed by the demand as more Drivers are needed. The demand is enorm, as there is no affordable way of transportation available for people who need regular medical attention. All riders are very appreciative of the service provided, even when it takes some accommodation on their side when a detour or shared ride is involved. I'm happy to be part of this organization , being able to address these needs and providing an affordable way of transportation for those who need it most.

I volunteer with Volunteer Airdrie by cutting the grass of senior residents that are unable to do it themselves. It’s very fulfilling to be able to do such a small favour for these residents and allow them to feel more at home. And the odd time, you may get an additional thank you in form of baking 😉

Volunteer Airdrie is a Great Organization of Volunteers who help, for sure, as experienced personally when we are unable due to specific reasons as I had a medical condition. I made a good friend Joe who is a Volunteer and who helped me to remove my very heavy microwave. Joe did everything very smilingly. Big Thanks to Volunteer Airdrie.

I have been using the Snow Angels from volunteer Airdrie due to a disability that keeps me from being able to do it myself. They have been a wonderful help for me since I live on assistance and can't afford to pay someone. This is a fantastic and necessary service for people. They do a great job, thank you so much!
