I called Sussex Insurance a couple of weeks ago and received excellent help over the phone regarding how to proceed with an out-of-province insurance swap. Today, after completing my insurance mechanical check, I was excited to go to Sussex to finalize the swap. When I arrived and explained that I was there to do the out-of-province insurance swap and had all my documents ready, the staff member told me that they don't handle those transactions. I was confused because I had previously spoken to someone who was very helpful. When I mentioned this, she asked how long ago that was. I told her it was just a couple of weeks ago and that I had just completed the mechanical inspection, which is why I was there now to swap the insurance. She then changed her response, saying that they do handle such swaps, but she didn't have enough staff to leave the office at that moment. While I understand that and would have been willing to come back later, her initial response made me feel like she didn't want to help me. I would like to understand why I was told the service was not available at all And question out to how long ago I talked to somebody ,when she could have stated I could come back later when there was more help. Throughout the interaction, she seemed impatient, even though I was polite and simply seeking assistance.

I ended up going to Auto Plan on Mart Street, where they quickly and efficiently completed my insurance swap. They provided excellent service, explained everything thoroughly, and even removed the license plates from my vehicle for me. I'm disappointed that my experience at Sussex was not the same.

Always a pleasure dealing with Sussex. Every single staff member has been extremely helpful and accommodating during each visit. It should also be noted that they may be the last insurance place in town to still fill out transfer forms for vehicle purchases/sales on the customer's behalf, to avoid making a mistake that results in having to start a new form and collect a fresh signature from the other party (a massive headache). Sussex goes the extra mile and wait times have always been brief. To everyone there, thank you!

Just walked in at 8:15pm, when the doors and also google both say they are open until 9pm. The woman inside scoffed at me and said “I’m just shutting it down”. Love it when coyotes shut down 45 minutes early!

I was immediately looked after when I walked in. The information I needed was explained in full and any questions I asked were promptly addressed.
The staff here is very friendly, especially the manager. He is very nice and always helps me with my insure needs. I have been coming here for years and these guys are the best in business. I use Sussex for all my insurance needs.

I got auto insurance before traveling to the states for school and now due to crises situation I can't stay in school and need to change my out of country auto insurance because it is too expensive and I'm coming back to Canada but not to penticton right away, so i cant see them in person. But it seems like they never answer their phone or return emails. I'm thinking about just canceling payments through my bank but don't want it to look bad on me next time I get insurance 🙁

Very accommodating, knowledgeable and polite staff. The guy working here (Harvin) is very friendly and always provides best service to me and my family. They were very honest with me for what products, if any would be best for my needs.

Would definitely recommend visiting them once for your insurance needs.

We had great service from the manager here at the Penticton Branch, when we went in to transfer our out of province vehicle, and to insure it. I believe his name was Harvin.
He was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, he explained coverages very well, and he even came out to help me put on the plates on my vehicle as it was very cold outside and my hands were freezing. He was a pleasure to do business with.
I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for fast, friendly and efficent service.

I’ve been going to this insurance agent for years . The lady’s I have dealt with in the past have been AWESOME! But Iam going to reconsider after tonight. I went to renew my insurance , and this older blonde lady was very rude and short with me and my son . Totally unprofessional . So if you get an older blonde lady , and she doesn’t seem very friendly, come back when she’s not there.

New Update;
I now re recommend this insurance broker. The owner cleaned house of the problematic employees , and now you get the service and the flexibility (open late until 9 ) the people of Penticton deserve..
